I think we are our own best critic. We know what we need to improve on.
We know our strengths and weaknesses.
But have you ever another person for 100% honest feedback?
No sugar coating it. No holding back. Give it to me straight.
Don’t get me wrong. You can’t do this with everyone in your life because they might take it as an open door to tear you apart. This can only be done with people you respect. You know they will give you honest feedback.
I recently challenged our Facility Leaders to give me brutally honest feedback. I wanted to hear how I can improve as a Leader. I thought it might be a cool exercise for you to do with your friends, family, co-workers or anyone you know that can be honest with you. That’s why I wanted to share it with you!
Here’s the email I sent out….
I am emailing you because I greatly respect and trust your opinion.
I want to be the best version of myself I can be. In order to do that, I need to understand how others view me.
In order for this to be productive, I need you to be BRUTALLY HONEST with me.
Please answer the following questions….
1) What are the top 3 things I do well?
2) What are my 3 biggest weaknesses that you feel I need to improve upon?
I really appreciate you taking the time to fill this out and help me become better!
It’s not easy to hear the answers but if you are devoted to working on yourself, then you will listen to their feedback with an open mind and see their perspective.
