How to Build Self Confindence

After 15 years in the fitness industry, I found an interesting trend. I thought most people wanted to lose weight, tone up and have more energy. I was surprised when I asked my clients, “what do you want from this fitness program?” and I would often get a response that caught me off guard….



“I want more confidence.”

It makes sense. Confidence changes our life in so many ways. It allows you to ask the guy or girl on the date. To ask for the promotion at work. To produce more everyday.

Here’s the secret to building more self confidence.

It comes from keeping promises to yourself. 
I repeat:  your self-confidence comes from keeping promises to yourself.

 

If we’re being honest, we break promises to ourselves all the time, especially when it comes to our health and fitness.

 

“I’ll start tomorrow.”

“I’ll start Monday.”

 

“I’m committed this time.”

But you don’t start, and if you do, you quit when things get challenging.

 

Maybe you’ve been doing this for decades!

 

How you think about yourself (your self-identity) is tied to the thoughts and beliefs you hold about yourself.

 

If your life, or more notably, your health and fitness is full of false promises, it will negatively affect your self-confidence and identity.

 

I’ve got good news for you! Being self-aware is the key to CHANGE.

 

It all starts with creating small wins and keeping minor promises to yourself, which when kept over time, equals huge victories and a newfound self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-belief.
If your self-confidence is suffering, create small wins throughout the day. Consider making your bed every morning as win #1! Eat something healthy as win #2!

 

If you’re starting a new nutrition program, don’t focus on how far you have to go or count down the weeks. Take it meal by meal. Every healthy meal is a WIN!

 

Rinse and repeat.

 

I promise that if you adopt this mindset and collect the small wins, your self-confidence, self-esteem and self-worth will skyrocket and you WILL achieve any goal you set for yourself.
